Deep Vein Thrombosis is diagnosed by a blood clot which forms in the deep veins, below the muscles, which can be accompanied by a range of symptoms. Some symptoms include:
- Swelling
- A slight fever or warm skin
- Aching, pain, or tenderness in the legs while standing or walking
- A tight feeling in the legs
- Discolored skin (either red or white at certain times)
Our treatment for this condition typically involves using medication (such as anticoagulants) and compression stockings. DVT can be fatal, as it can lead to pulmonary embolism in which a blood clot travels to the heart or lung and blocks blood flow.
