Similar to the carotid ultrasound, the vascular ultrasound shows the size of any blockages that have formed in other arteries of the body – most commonly in the legs. These blockages could prevent blood from returning to the heart efficiently. This type of ultrasound takes images of the affected area to determine if any blockages are present.
